We are offering three different Training Tracks this spring. Here are their descriptions:
Missional Foundations-10 Weeks
What| The Missional Foundations track is essential training for all leaders within Texas Cru. In this track you will gain knowledge and skills in how to step out in faith to share the gospel with people in your life. Talking about Christ can be intimidating and confusing, and we want to work together to become more competent, confident, and compassionate in our sharing about Christ.
Who| Anyone who either wants to grow more in their understanding and confidence in sharing the gospel with those around them, or who is interested in being a leader in Texas Cru.
*This class is a pre-requisite for all other TNT classes
What will I learn?| By the end of this track you will: 1) gain an understanding of why we share the gospel with others, 2) understand different ways/tools to share the gospel, 3) grow in understanding the ministry of the Holy Spirit, 4) learn how to address some of the common objections to faith in Christ, 5) have initiated spiritual conversations with people at UT, 6) and have prayed for the lost.
Biblical Discipleship-10 Weeks
What is my purpose as a Christian? Is there more to Christianity than just going to church and becoming a better person? These are very common questions that we all have. Yet, we never really ask them out loud. As Christians we have the great joy and duty of making disciples of Christ. This is how the Gospel of Jesus normally works itself out in people’s lives: through the intimate, personal relationship of disciples helping other disciples grow in their knowledge and love of Christ. This exciting process can be daunting and confusing if you have never done it and do not have direction and resources. If you want to see other people’s lives transformed by Christ through your influence, please join us for this semester to get trained in making disciples.
Small Group Leadership-10 Weeks
What| Leading a small group can be difficult for those who have never done it, and especially awkward too! Becoming a good small group leader takes time and practice actually leading. In this class we will model and practice the content that most of the small groups that Texas Cru will be using. This way you will have seen/experienced how the time could look and what things you can highlight in your personal study. We will intersperse general small group leadership teaching in the sessions as well.
Who| Anyone who would like to lead small groups in the future, or anyone who is leading a small group with Texas Cru now should seriously consider this track.
Cru Leadership team-2 Semesters
