James Wood
I have been a Texan all my life, though spending time in many different parts. Austin has been my home since 2003, when I started my undergraduate studies at UT. Don’t ask my anything about my major (Finance) because I am completely inept. Campus Crusade for Christ has played a major role in my life, helping me find my Lord and my love (Clare, see below) and being the only job I have known. I first believed in the gracious salvation in Christ in June 2004, and my life has never been the same. Clare and I were blessed enough to meet each other in our first year on staff with Crusade, and then married in the winter of the following year. Please talk to me anytime about theology, philosophy, coffee, music, and the hope found in the person of Jesus Christ. And if you ever play basketball, you won’t have to do any convincing for me to join you.

I am originally from Indiana, and graduated from Northwestern in Chicago with a history major. I have been at UT for nine years. I am married to Chris and have three children—Isabella (7), Zach (5), and Xander (1 1/2). I love sports, hanging out with friends, reading, cooking, and traveling.

After Graduating from Texas Tech, I taught middle school math for 3 years and then began working with CCC in 2007. I married my wife Amy, who is a Sooner by the way, in that same year and moved to Austin in the fall of 2008. Although, we grew up as your rivals, we have found that we love the students of the University of Texas and have thoroughly enjoyed our time here in Austin. My favorite pass times include but are not limited to: drinking coffee, hanging out with my wife, watching college football, movies, and way too much TV. But seriously, we love working for CCC because both of our lives where changed in college, as that is where we began to understand what it means to have a relationship with God.
Clare Wood
My name is Clare Wood, married to the wonderful Mr. James Wood. I went to Miami of Ohio and graduated with a graphic design degree in ’07. I moved to Austin right after I graduated to join Crusade’s art ministry, The Fireseed Anthology Project. After interning for a year and being wooed by James’s good looks we got engaged and I made the decision to join the UT team . I can most often be found doing design, garage sale-ing, and cooking! I love crafts and little projects that get me caught up in them… I love being creative, knowing that our Creator delights in us reflecting Him as the creator.

I was born and raised in Houston, TX and attended UT Austin where I was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. I graduated in May of 2010 with a Liberal Arts degree and will be an intern with Campus Crusade for Christ at UT this school year. My years of involvement with CCC has led to an immense growth in my relationship with Christ and I look forward to blessing others with that same experience.

I was born in Denver, but have spent most of my life in Austin…a place I continue to love and appreciate the longer I’m here. I am a recent graduate of the University of Texas, where I studied Spanish and was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. I enjoy exploring Austin, finding fun coffee shops, and traveling as much as possible. I am passionate about seeing people find their worth in Christ and love hearing about what God is doing all over the world. I feel so blessed to be back on the UT campus, where God did so much in my own life and where I know He will continue to work, drawing students to Himself.

I was born and raised in the sweet state of Louisiana. I am the oldest of four and could eat my weight in gumbo. I attended LSU where I was member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. I graduated with my B.S. in psychology in May of 2010. I moved to Austin soon after, and thus began my love affair with this great city! I was fortunate enough to be apart of the Greece summer project in 2009, and there God rocked my miniscule view of the world and Him. Campus Crusade has played an important role in helping me know Christ more through conferences, mission trips, and even just fellowship with others. And I am honored to be apart of the Texas Cru team!

I am from the great city of Norman, Oklahoma where, growing up, I was brainwashed to be a sooner fan along with my twin brother, Michael. Fortunately, I was able to see the light and moved to Austin to attend the best school in the country: THE University of Texas. I graduated in December of 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. While at the University of Texas I was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. I love living in Austin and getting to experience new things. I enjoy running, scuba diving and talking to random strangers. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of the Cru team at UT this year. I am so excited I get to share Christ’s love everyday with students and cant wait to see what He does in their lives!

I was born in Houston, but there was never a doubt I would end up at the University of Texas; between the family legacy, attending nearly every home football game as a kid, and watching numbers like 34 and 10 run over defenses, only the “Top 10%” rule had a chance of keeping me away. At UT I studied Government as a major and minored in Spanish and Business, while also being actively involved in the SAE fraternity and Campus Crusade for Christ. I enjoy spending time in coffee shops, playing and watching sports, snapping some cool photos, and listening to music you’ve never heard of. Most of all, I’m passionate about experiencing a real, daily relationship with Jesus and sharing His love with friends and family, the fraternity system, and the entire UT community.

WASSUPP!! I was born in Fort Worth. I was a SAE at the University of Texas and I will be graduating from this amazing University this December with a degree in government. I enjoy Texas Football victories, reading, coffee, food, and people. It has been the greatest joy in my life to walk with God for the past 7 years and I take joy in serving the campus for the sake of students making Jesus Christ the treasure of their lives. I look forward to seeing how the Lord works on campus this year.

Although I hail from the state that shall not be named, I was educated in and first employed by the State of Texas. I attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where I double majored in Political Science and Spanish and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Austin to begin working as a parliamentary research assistant in the Texas House of Representatives. Soon the work soured, and feelings of detachment began to surface. But by an act of Providence I was introduced to, befriended by, and ultimately invited into biblical community with the current tenants of one Avenue Blues. My heart for students is that they would find a similar community, and through it, encounter God. Please talk to me anytime about political philosophy, theology, or unhealthy diets. By the way: Coke > Pepsi; beach > mountain; and Mac > PC.

I was born in Aledo, TX and came to Austin to attend the greatest university in the world, The University of Texas, where I studied business and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. I graduated in the May of 2011 and now I’m on the staff team with Campus Crusade for Christ. Campus Crusade helped me really grow in my personal relationship with the Lord while I was in college, and I’m very excited about getting to continue to hang out with college students and help them grown and develop in their own personal relationship with Christ. I enjoy all things college football, especially the Texas Longhorns. I also really enjoy music, Texas sports, reading, tossing the frisbee, running, concerts, ice coffee, traveling and training to one day climb Everest.

I was born in Dallas, TX to my wonderful parents Vicki and Bruce. Although my dad attended the university not to be named (well…OU), and even played ball there, the rest of his family are Longhorns-all five children and his wife! I graduated from UT in May of 2011 with a degree from the College of Liberal Arts, which apparently is the degree that big businesses salivate over when perusing through their lists of potential employees. Well, at this point I’m putting all those HUGE offers on hold (totally being sarcastic), and pursuing the Lord’s call on my life to share Christ with students at UT. I first understood the depth of God’s love for us in Christ and responded to his invitation to true life my freshman year. Life in Christ has been challenging, but full of true and lasting joy, and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to share Christ with others full time. Besides pursuing intimacy with my Lord, I enjoy hanging with friends outside, indie music, architecture, golf, and legit food.
